Today-I will awaken an Indian

Today I will play with my kids from early in the morn
Today I will set the newspapers aside
Today I will come out of the loo to spend those precious moments with you
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I wont scowl at the neighbor's baby as she wails for the unknown
Today I wont stare down the milkman when he takes a while to move from the elevator
Today I wont think funny of my neighborhood laughter club
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will sit as a family at breakfast
Today I will talk about my work ahead
Today I will talk about your day that will be in school
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will tease my son about the crush I think he has
Today I will mimic my daughter and see her smile
Today I will make sure we all laugh
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I won't get angry
Today I won't let you go without letting you know I love you
Today I won't want anything to stop me calling you from work
Who knows if it's 26.11

Today I wont leave home without putting things back in place
Today I wont let anything stop me from teaching you that new recipe
Today I wont fuss as you fuss about my gleaming polished shoes
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will tell you how tired I am after parking all those cars
Today I will tell you how many guests I smiled at
Today I will tell you about all those delayed orders that I took care of
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I won't dine with my friends
Today I won't celebrate my anniversary
Today I won't drink for longer than you asked me to
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I won't come to the hospital
Today for the needy I won't care
Today I will return home early
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I won't take the train
Today I won't wait in the waiting room
Today I won't loiter about the platform
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will call my parents who are far away from me
Today I will hear the twinkle in their eye
Today I will see the words and love that they share with me
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will queue up my car at a security check
Today I will be patient
Today I will smile at the man doing his duty
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will wave at the cop from the ac confines of my car
While he toils in the sun
Today I will not grit my teeth at the traffic
Today I will smile at my anonymous neighbor in the jam
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I wont slight away the waiter as he offers me finger food
Today I will remember that I did the same so many years ago
Today I will give my best to the ever smiling door man
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will not throw garbage on the road
Today I will not dirty my own house
Today I will not allow you to walk all over me
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I will try and influence a good deed
Today I will awaken a conscience
Today I will do my bit to create an Indian
Who knows if its 26.11

Today I wont allow you to get away from all that you are doing that is wrong
Today I will want answers from you for the questions that I have asked
Today I will ensure I will not be cowed by your goons
I don’t want again a 26.11

Excerpt from a message to a friend and a couple of new ones

Excerpt from a message to a friend and a couple of new ones

.....I am like many of us are confused-its ok to say we need change etc but what and how? Does it mean one of us needs to stand up and aim to get elected? Does that then mean mingling with these goondas etc-can one man bring about a change? (Sure) but do we have that patience and perseverance? Most importantly is enough being done now or are we ready to face another attack?
And to me terror isnt about bullets alone-its about how we being part of a society are terrorising it-whether via the dogs we take for a walk and leave their poop all over the roads-whether its by inflicting terror via the garbage we throw on the streets and outside our homes...
What do we do and how do we do it? A lot of people I know are looking for these answers...
I am just taking out my frustrations via my blogs, my writings and i feel deeply handicapped that i cant see a light at the end of the tunnel
The truth is-I WANT TO!

A MESSAGE FOR YOU KNOW WHO

Putting an end to terrorism
Calls for patriotism among other isms
To me the number one terror outfit
Is the Govt that is a misfit

Have we forgotten the meaning of independence
Or are we using it for our convenience
For spitting on the roads and making your pet dog poop on them
Hey that isn't azaadi I thee condemn

These potholed roads and the overflowing garbage bins
These vehicles parked as they please and the hawkers on the trims
Hey independence was never meant to be wasted so soon
Even if your baap is now the local goon

Why is that we need a wake up call
Every time that as a nation we fall
Why is that while we have language, state, religion etc as a divide
To unite us we don't have a single pride

You mongers have been raping us for years on bound
From time immemorial we have suffered nary a sound
Are we still going to bear this in all the pain
Or are we going to say HELL no more for you to gain

Hey get real pal the nation is on an upsurge
We have metamorphosised... enough have you splurged
This time on the hurt won't fade
If at all its you on the razors blade

Enough of plundering enough of loot
The day isn't far when you'll get the boot
These are your fading moments i'm sure
I'm certain this time India she'll be pure

Get down on your knees crave forgiveness
Wallow in self pity in your mess
The end this is the end
The real Indians are finally awake my friend...
SOME CRYPTIC SUGGESTIONS TO RESTORE WORLD PEACE
Or
Simply Said-Kick Some A**

If the world leaders present and future
Are really bothered about world peace my dear
Then why cant they sit together
Russia,US,China,Pak and India here?

Get rid of world terror
Just cannot live with all this horror
Surely the solution is in sight
Is it in the problem? ..Not quite..

If strategies can be conjured in war rooms
Then you dont need witches on brooms
To figure what part of the globe needs cleaning
And put Mother Earth back to what she was-Gleaming

Obama,Medvedev,MaYingJeou,Zardari & Singh
I sincerely do hope you guys are listening
This is the time when the world needs to unite
And show the cowards your might

What better opportunity now than ever before
Global financial crisis and all this gore
Get the world cleaned of all this mess
And your economies with the world will prosper-God bless

The importance of voting for the right person has come to fore particularly after the Mumbai tragedy that put the fact in front of us that our lives are so damned vulnerable.

I have this interesting piece of information-I dont know how many of us are aware of this
Please read on and inform as many people possible

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969
act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm
his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election
officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

Yes! such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious
leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".

Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"...

Because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that
particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling
will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled .

Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and
they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed
their decision on them .

This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates
for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole
political system... It is seemingly surprising why the election commission
has not revealed such a feature to the public....

Please spread this news to as many as you know...Seems to be a wonderful
weapon against corrupt parties in India... Show your power, expressing your
desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... So
don't miss your chance.
So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on...

"Please forward this mail to as many as possible, so that we, the people of
India, can really use this power to save our nation". Use your voting right
for a better INDIA

Change? Its in our hands

i have often wondered
what happens to a media story
after it has been published, splashed and autopsied
across all news channels...

Another new one comes along
the previous one is forgotten and excreted
from the memories of our mind
and lo and behold we have a new one on our panels...

the game is all of TRP's
and eyeballs that they are fighting for
rubbishing the Indian-ness that this
country was once known for...

love thy neighbor we were told
help those in need we were taught
but now all i see is a blind eye to someones need
this fake attitude is what i abhor...

"nothing can happen to this country"
"disgusting way of working of the machinery"
"corruption corruption everywhere"
who will bring the change i ponder...

politicians? no way
they aren't anymore the leaders
business houses? frankly my dear
they dont give a damn, for about their own future they wonder...

there is friction being created
over domiciles and state-hoods
progress be damned
i am only interested in my vote bank...

earlier i had five years
that was when my party had majority
today its coalition times
bhidu
its to each his own and i need water and masala for my own fish tank...

gandhi, patel, azad, and ambedkar
a saddened lot they'd all be
to see what is happening
to the nation for which they did dream...

those dreams have come to naught
who cares for the country now
its power power and more power
and full coffers is all what they scheme...

they said the judiciary was above all
well with the scams that their honors are in
where do we look, who do we holler
our voices are going hoarse and our frustrations stronger...

but are we putting the nation first
who's bothered about the legacy we leave behind
with the ctc's going northwards
the rat races are just getting longer...

someones got to pick up the cudgels
somethings got to give i still believe
i remember the tales of kalki
will he be the one, the savior...

hell no..there is a kalki in each one of us
we have the power to change
if obama could we could too-vote is what we all need to do
only then can we hope for a change in the Indian demeanor...

An Inanely Written Quatrain

Some Day I will
I know I will
I have a deadline
and I know I will

But why does it seem
that till then I will dream
of accomplishing it
bit by bit

I look for inspiration
from everywhere that I see
Leaves or trees
Hills or seas

The waves that seem
like an infinite realm
waves that come and hit the shore
Watching them was never a bore

So I then decide
Good that I have this tryst
18th Birthday of of my daughter my pride
Much before that the book....I must!
